New hire strengthens Meramec’s engineering talent for new product development
Cuba, Missouri, May 31th, 2016 – Meramec is proud to welcome Kiran Vedante to Meramec Instrument Transformer Co. as Senior Design Engineer. In his new role at Meramec, Kiran’s responsibilities will primarily focus on new product development. Kiran is expected to become an integral part of Meramec; his knowledge and experience will serve him to be a vital contributor to Meramec’s growth and development.
Kiran joins the Meramec team after a successful tenure with ABB Inc. There he served as Principal Researcher/Investigator on an important topic in the Electric Utility Industry – the effects of geo-magnetically induced currents on power transformers. Over the course of his career, Kiran has been extensively involved in the design and development of power transformers, shunt reactors, and special duty transformers.
Among his many accomplishments, Kiran has been instrumental to the development of a methodology to evaluate the magnetic and thermal influences of GIC Capability on power transformers. He has been published in several IEEE articles and his work has been adopted in a guide by the IEEE.
Kiran brings 20+ years of design and development experience of transformers to Meramec, and has worked with many of the leading companies in the industry. Kiran holds a Master of Electrical Engineering from
Bombay University in Mumbai.
