Meramec Design Engineer receives certificate of appreciation from IEEE
Cuba, Missouri, June 7th, 2016 – Meramec Instrument Transformer Co. is proud to announce the recent accomplishment of one its Senior Design Engineers. Kiran Vedante has been recognized by the IEEE with a Certificate of Appreciation for Outstanding Contributions.
The recognition is due to Kiran’s instrumental involvement in the development of IEEE Standard C57.163-2015. This guide establishes power transformer capability while under geomagnetic disturbances. Along with this certificate, Kiran has also been published in the December 2015 issue of the IEEE Electrification magazine. His article details the impact of geomagnetically induced currents (GICs) on power transformers.
Kiran has 20+ years of transformer design and development experience and has worked with many of the leading companies in the industry. Kiran holds a Master Degree in Electrical Engineering from Bombay University in Mumbai.
